Texas Toyota Enthusiasts Await Debut of 2012 Celica at Jerry Durant Toyota

The No.1 Toyota dealership serving Fort Worth, Granbury and the surrounding areas, Jerry Durant Toyota, proudly announces the eagerly anticipated relaunch of the original affordable sports car, the Toyota Celica.

Celica, which has been absent from Toyota’s line-up since 2005, is expected to return as a four cylinder, rear wheel drive, economical and fuel efficient sports car sure to become a favorite of Granbury Toyota consumers.

The redesigned Toyota Celica is expected to be an aerodynamic hatchback capable of seating four adults. Celica’s linear, fluid design will certainly turn heads and get you noticed in Granbury, TX!

The Celica is a joint venture between Toyota and Subaru. Weatherford Toyota consumers will appreciate Toyota’s reliability and fuel economy and Subaru’s sporty powertrain. The Toyota-Subaru alliance has engineered Celica to be a sports car with high-price looks but still a relatively low price tag.

Powering the coupe will be a Subaru 2.0 liter flat-4 engine with 200hp and 145 lb-ft. of torque. Road and Track is predicting that the car will weigh in at about 2700 lbs. That would make this a pretty quick car pushing 0-60mph around 6 seconds or better. The base engine will likely be coupled with a six-speed manual and an optional automatic transmission. Talk of a premium turbocharged engine in the plans that will deliver 300 horsepower.

The  Celica may have a bold powertrain and exciting RWD platform, but stays true to its roots as the iconic everyday affordable sports car with an anticipated price tag anticipated to be in the $17,000 to $25,ooo range.

The exhilarating new Celica is expected to premier at the top Granbury Toyota dealership, Jerry Durant Toyota, later this year.

Fort Worth Toyota Dealer Offers IIHS Safety Award Winners

Monday, June 7th, 2010

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) recently reported that the all-new 2011 Toyota Sienna and redesigned 2011 Toyota Avalon sedan have been named “Top Safety Picks,” announced Fort Worth Toyota dealership, Jerry Durant Toyota.

Jerry Durant Toyota serves Fort Worth and the neighboring areas with unparalleled customer service and a tremendous selection of Toyota vehicles.

There is no higher safety designation awarded by the IIHS than “Top Safety Pick.” For vehicles to qualify for the award, they must earn the highest rating of “good” in the IIHS’ front, side, rollover, and rear impact tests and be equipped with electronic stability control. The rollover test was a added to the “Top Safety Pick” criteria in 2010, making receiving the award even more difficult.

The new Sienna is the first, and thus far the only minivan to earn an IIHS Top Safety Pick, since the rollover test was included.

A “good” rating requires a roof be able to support the equivalent of four times the vehicle’s weight compared with the current federal standard of 1.5. In the IIHS testing, the Sienna roof withstood a force equal to 4.12 times its vehicle weight. The Avalon’s weight withstood 4.07 times its vehicle weight.

Additionally, all Toyota models meet or exceed the safety requirements of the federal government and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The awards make Sienna and Avalon intelligent choices for Fort Worth Toyota consumers and are available today at Jerry Durant Toyota.
