2010 Prius at Granbury Toyota Dealer

The top Texas Toyota dealer serving Granbury, Weatherford and Fort Worth celebrates the tenth anniversary of the Prius by highlighting the groundbreaking hybrid vehicle.

Ten years ago Toyota launched a new kind of car;. the now iconic  Prius, an affordable car with a hybrid gas/electric powertrain. In the decade that followed, the Prius made an indelible mark on Texas Toyota consumers. The car with the signature wedge shape proved to be an agent of change, and a catalyst for innovative ideas. Over 1.8 million units have been sold in the world to date, with nearly 900,000 in the U.S. alone.

“Toyota recognized in the 1990s that sustainable transportation would become a huge challenge in the coming decades,” said Jim Lentz, president and COO of Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc.  “Those realizations proved accurate, and if anything, even more profound considering what we know today.”

The first Prius model was available to Granbury Texas consumers in July of 2000. Gas prices averaged nationally at a new high of $1.50 a gallon. The waning ozone layer and global warming were constantly in the news. Leading Texas Toyota dealership, Jerry Durant Toyota, recognized the significance of the innovative Prius Hybrid Synergy to Granbury TX shoppers concerned with rising gas prices and environmental issues.

The first Prius owners in Texas, well aware of public events and global developments, were conscious of the impact of their own choice to own a Prius from the leading Toyota dealership in Texas . They became articulate advocates for hybrid technology. Soon, demand outstripped supply, and the Prius became a popular choice for Granbury TX Toyota shoppers.

Toyota Prius from Jerry Durant Toyota of Granbury TX

Driving a Prius delivered a new kind of satisfaction to Weatherford, Granbury and Fort Worth Toyota owners, based on a new set of values.  It was a car enriched with advanced features, in tune with global issues that assumed greater importance every year.  The Prius from Jerry Durant Toyota provided an affordable transportation solution that earlier all-electric cars did not, as it was able to use existing infrastructure without concerns for recharging or range limitations.
Today, the Prius has become a mainstream vehicle. It is the third-best selling car in the Toyota line, and an icon for the company.  Owner loyalty figures are among the highest in the automotive industry. Compared to the original car in 2000, the 2010 Prius is bigger, faster and even cleaner.  While the first generation was classified as a Super Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle (SULEV), the current Prius is a SULEV/AT-PZEV, meaning that it meets super-ultra-low-emissions-vehicle requirements, and emits zero emissions at rest. Further innovations, like the solar powered ventilation system on the 2010 model, contribute to the car’s reputation as a harbinger of future trends and technologies.

Texas Toyota Dealership Debuts 2011 Sienna

Monday, July 19th, 2010

Toyota has introduced a substantially revamped version of its Sienna van for the 2011 model year, and the news on that front is mostly good. The latest Sienna is considerably better than the preceding model in nearly every way, and its improved ride and handling are particularly notable.

Discerning Granbury consumers know minivans are all about spacious interiors, accommodating seats and flexible cargo space. The 2011 Sienna from the leading Toyota dealership in Texas has available seating for eight passengers and ample storage space. In either version, the second-row seats can move forward or backward as much as 23 inches, providing a lot of space flexibility for the second and third rows. Sliding the second row forward also makes it much easier to climb into the third row. That seat can accommodate three small people or two adults.

For carrying more gear, the third row folds fairly easily into a well. But even when the third-row seats are being used, the cargo space is 39 cubic feet — about two and a half times as much as the trunk of a Camry sedan.

Texas Toyota consumers who need a first-rate family room on wheels will find the 2011 Sienna from Jerry Durant Toyota of Granbury checks off all the must-have boxes. There are five trim levels, two engines, front- or all-wheel-drive configurations, regular or sporty suspensions and a wide range of prices.

A 4-cylinder version starts at a budget-friendly $25,060 and is so nicely equipped that a lot of buyers could stop there. For Texas Toyota shoppers concerned about ice and snow, the least economical Sienna with all-wheel drive is $31,930.  Indeed, Toyota is the only automaker offering a conventional minivan with either a 4-cylinder engine or all-wheel drive.

There are versions catering to other preferences as well. Texas Toyota minivan owners can choose the 2011 Sienna SE with a sport suspension or pamper themselves with the luxurious XLE or Limited versions.

Toyota calls the 2011 model the third-generation Sienna, although there are many similarities with the previous one. The V-6 engine is carried over and the van is built on “roughly” the same underlying architecture, said David Lee, a product communications specialist.

The new exterior styling came from Toyota’s California design studio. A 6-speed transmission replaces a 5-speed unit. The steering system, formerly hydraulic, is now electric.

Texas Toyota consumers will love the 2011 Sienna XLE V-6 from Jerry Durant Toyota. This models is equipped with with all-wheel drive, 18-inch run-flat tires and a Premium Package ($6,225) that included rear-seat entertainment features, a navigation system and a backup camera.
